American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 

Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program (STATE) - $36.2 Million
Funds will be distributed by CJCC to local agencies, state agencies and non-profit groups to create jobs and promote public safety.  A specific spending plan for this funding is still being determined.  We will announce state Byrne/JAG funding opportunities on our website, http://cjcc.ga.gov.

Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program (LOCAL) - $22.8 Million
Funds will be awarded directly from the federal government to cities and counties across the Georgia based on a formula that includes the amount of crime in the community.  The deadline to apply for local/direct funding is 8:00 p.m. (EST) May 18, 2009.  Click here for more information. 

STOP Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Grant Program - $3.97 Million
Funds will be awarded by CJCC to support communities in their efforts to hire and retain criminal justice and victim services personnel that respond to violent crimes against women as a way to develop and strengthen effective law enforcement, prosecution strategies, and victim services in cases involving violent crimes against women.  A specific spending plan for this funding is still being determined.  Funding opportunities will be announced on our website, http://cjcc.ga.gov.

Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Victim Assistance Grant Program - $1.1 Million
Funds will be awarded by CJCC to support the provision of services to victims of crime throughout Georgia.  A specific spending plan for this funding is still being determined.  Funding opportunities will be announced on our website, http://cjcc.ga.gov.
